Workshop sessions for a whole or subset of the faculty enable exploration of teaching strategies together (as with writers workshop, for example). This traditional approach to professional development remains valuable, though it doesn’t insure adoption of new instructional ideas on its own. IWP programs therefore use this mode strategically in combination with others. Smaller teacher groups can work together, focused on studying professional books or articles, along with practical classroom strategies, facilitated by the IWP leader. These can be scheduled during professional development days, after school, or during more extended time during the summer.

IWP can provide any of the following workshops by arrangement with your school or district. Contact us at illinoiswritingproject@neiu.edu.

ISBE credit hours are provided for all workshops . NEIU graduate credit hours can be arranged for an additional fee.
